“Would you like Cheez-Its with that?” Don’t be surprised if your waitress doesn’t tender that offer at the Cheez-In Diner where the question is superfluous since virtually everything on the menu is made using Cheez-It crackers.
The salty little orange squares turn up in the crumb coating on your Cheezy Chicky Tendies, and the Sweet-N-Salty Cheezcake sports a Cheez-It pie crust and is topped with caramel and Extra Big Cheez-Its. There is even a Cheez-It milkshake, a vanilla shake blended with Cheez-Its and decorated with a crushed Cheez-It rim.
The diner, which is located in Woodstock, N.Y., two hours outside New York City, operates out of the building that in a previous life was the Dixon Roadside restaurant. It will remain open daily from 4 to 9 p.m. and till midnight over Memorial Day weekend, after which it turns back into a pumpkin.
