If you’re a Buffalo Bills fan, you’re probably aware that today’s game against the the Jacksonville Jaguars is being broadcast from London. If you were figuring on skipping your normal visit to your neighborhood bar, thinking it would be dry due to the early hour and Sunday blue laws, think again.
According to CBS New York, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul has decreed that the New York State Liquor Authority extend the deadline for special permits:
With the @BuffaloBills playing across the pond on Sunday morning, I know fans will be gathering for the big game & may fancy a pint.
I’m directing the State Liquor Authority to extend the deadline for special permits, so sports bars & restaurants can serve as early as 8am. ❤️💙

What that means is that sports bars, neighborhood bars, and restaurants can begin serving alcohol as early as 8 a.m., enabling fans to be liquored up in time for Sunday’s 9:30 a.m. kickoff.
