Melba Wilson, owner of the soul food restaurant that carries her name, likes to muse whimsically that she was “born, bred and buttered” in Harlem. In June she will be bringing a generous helping of her down-home charm, not to mention soul-satisfying food, to hungry commuters when the latest in her expanding restaurant empire opens in Grand Central Terminal.

The newest Melba’s will occupy a spot in the Terminal’s food hall located in the common area. The menu will be comprised of her most popular dishes, including chicken and waffles, fried catfish, and collard greens.

In 2022, Melba’s opened a satellite in Central Park overlooking the Wollman Rink.
