What goes better with pizza than beer? How about the pleasant redundancy of beer that is pizza-flavored right down to its hints of “crispy crust, tangy tomato sauce, and savory herbs and spices”?

That’s what the makers of Tombstone Frozen Pizza and Voodoo Ranger IPA claim thirsty drinkers will find in every can of their “I(Pizza)A,” set to launch as a limited release on Apr. 7.

Alert readers will recall that a beer with the flavor of pizza was chronicled in these pages before. The product, sold under the Mamma Mia! label, is apparently no longer available, judging from the non-functionality of the link. Sic transit gloria mundi.

Free Pizza

Speaking of pizza, Unregular Pizza is throwing a party at its Midtown location this coming Wednesday, March 20 — and you’re invited to join them for a free slice of their Roman-style pie. The purpose of the giveaway is to highlight the offbeat pizzeria’s new partnership with the restaurant app Blackbird.

To claim your slice you’ll need to sign up for the app, if you haven’t already done so, and RSVP here. Then just tap your phone at the cashier when you arrive at the store and receive your slice.

If this all sounds like déjà-vu, that may be because the team behind the pizzeria ran a similar promotion last week at their bakery, off Union Square.
