At Cheese Grille, which serves up both sweet and savory turns on the lowly grilled cheese sandwich, is offering its delectable Gruyère-filled ham and cheese and other variations on the theme at no charge. The giveaway begins at 3 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m. Cheese Grille also offers spicy tomato soup (grilled cheese’s better half), though you’ll have to fork over $8 to convert the sandwich to a meal. Murray’s Cheese in the West Village is celebrating Grilled Cheese Day with free vouchers for its Murray’s Melt with a purchase to its first 100 customers.
