Dragon Fest — an annual celebration of all things Chinese — returns to the city Sunday.
This year’s event coincides with Panda Day, inspired by Chengdu, China, which houses a sanctuary for giant pandas, red pandas, and other endangered wild animals indigenous to China. Expect to see countless balloons and foods, including cookies, shaped like the cuddly creature. Unfortunately no real pandas will be present, though there will be chances throughout the event to win a free trip to China.
The event, which will span Seventh Avenue from 56th to 57th Streets, starts at 10 a.m.
Admission is free.
