This Saturday, local artist Matt Timms of All the Bad Cats will be painting custom pet portraits live on site at Grand Army Bar in Boerum Hill. His quirky watercolor illustrations aim to capture each animal’s individual spirit. The tribute to your pet will cost you $80 and can be taken home that day. While Matt paints your furry (or feathered) friend, hang out and enjoy a cocktail from GAB’s “Mean Girls”-themed menu.

Learn to Make Cocktails at a Tapas Bar
Continuing the bar theme, on Sunday the 40th Street location of the Spanish tapas chain Boqueria will teach you how to make two of its most popular seasonal cocktails — the Margarita de Rosas (shown below) and the Caballo Alto. You will also receive general instruction in how to work with different spirits, flavor profiles, and mixology tools.
While honing your mixological skills, chow down on a spread of Boqueria’s signature tapas.
Reservations for the class can be made here. The cost is $65, inclusive of gratuity.
