Have it their way.

Customers in Germany ready to break curfew to satisfy their craving for a Whopper will need to toe the line. The fast-food giant is enforcing social distancing by asking diners to wear crowns with a 3-foot radius.

“We wanted to reinforce the rules of high safety and hygiene standards that the BK restaurants are following,” a Burger King representative said according to Business Insider. “The do-it-yourself social-distance crown was a fun and playful way to remind our guests to practice social distancing while they are enjoying food in the restaurants.”

The approach is one of several the chain is introducing to keep its customers a healthful distance from one another. In Italy, the approach is to selling Whoppers with three times the amount of raw onions usually found on the burger, hoping that serious onion breath will serve as a deterrent.

It’s a pity BK didn’t come up with the giant crown idea a few weeks sooner. They could have done double duty as stylized sombreros on Cinco de Mayo.
