Mark Thursday, April 10, on your calendar. On that date, The Joy of Sake, the world’s largest sake tasting outside Japan, will return to Chelsea with a record 587 competition-level sakes available to taste.

Now in its 25th year, the Joy of Sake celebrates the ancient art of sake-brewing. Attendees at this walkaround tasting event will be given an opportunity to appreciate the full spectrum of sake styles, from the ultra-premium daiginjo (which comprise over half of the offerings) to the ginjo to the junmai. Among the sakes available for sampling are 350 brews not otherwise available in the U.S.

To help guests renew their capacity, while sharpening their sense of which foods go best with which sakes, sake-inspired appetizers will be offered from such top restaurants as Sushi by Bou, Bond St, Sakagura, Rule of Thirds, Sake No Hana, Sen Sakana, Towa, Yopparai, and Zuma.

The event, which will be held at the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 W. 18th Street, will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $130 and are available at www.joyofsake.com/newyork; IG: @joyofsake.
