If you’ve been to Ann Arbor, Mich., chances are you’ve eaten at Zingerman’s Deli, a 41-year-old practitioner of the art of fat-sandwich-making. And now for one brief day in October, you will have a chance to experience the deli’s fabled sandwiches right here at home.
On Oct. 7, Zingerman’s will pop up at Olly Olly Market in Chelsea. Seven different kinds of sandwiches will be featured, including Zingerman’s legendary Reuben. All sandwiches will be priced at $25 and include a pickle spear. Zingerman’s merch will also be for sale.
That date, by the way, coincides with the University of Michigan football game against the University of Minnesota (the Little Brown Jug trophy game), so anticipate long lines and waits for service that seem interminable.
The pop-up will run from noon to 8 p.m., or until the food runs out.
Olly Olly Market, 601 W. 26th Street, near Eleventh Avenue.
