As American as Mom, baseball, and … brunch? If you’re a fan of the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Mets’ High-A affiliate, then yes — that completion of the familiar trio fits. Minor League Baseball has announced that the Cyclones, in partnership with Murphs Famous Bloody Mary Mix, will be serving brunch at selected home games.
The $49 brunch will include two hours of unlimited mimosas, Bloody Marys, and beer along with a spread that includes breakfast breads, fruit skewers, hot honey yogurt, and “Cyclones Brunch Sliders” (translation: beef on a croissant topped with a fried egg, hollandaise, pepper jack cheese, and hash browns doused with sriracha ketchup).
A Cyclones hat is included in the price, and so is access to the Maimonides Park rooftop, which affords “unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean, Coney Island amusements, Lower Manhattan and more.”
Brunch is served at 1:30, a half hour before game time, which should give participants plenty of opportunity to get soused before the first pitch is thrown.
Maimonides Park is located just off the Coney Island boardwalk at 1904 Surf Avenue, Brooklyn, 718-449-8497. A complete brunch schedule can be found here.
