The trend toward happy hours that begin earlier and end later continues. Last year it was noted in this space that the Mexican mini-chain MEXiCUE had pulled out all the stops by declaring that its happy hour would extend to all day every day.

The latest variation on the happy hour theme to register on our radar is the offering by Kid Brother Pizza Bar, where between the hours of 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. on weekdays, you can order a large margherita, pepperoni, or goat cheese and spinach pie plus two Narragansett beers for $21 — a $6 saving on the listed price for the same combo.

The restaurant, located in the Urbanspace Food Hall on the ground floor of the Zero Irving building on 14th Street, is owned and run by veteran of the New York restaurant scene Michael Davis (Daniel, Bouley, Del Posto) and his partner, Camila Nevin.

Another way in which the restaurant distinguishes itself from its competition is by offering single slices — a trait other pizzaioli around town would do well to emulate.
