Van Leeuwen is at it again. The ice cream maker known for its outlandish flavors — think mac and cheese and pizza — has come out with another combo to rival Mad Magazine’s halvah and lasagna chip. The new flavor? Grey Poupon with Salted Pretzels.
The mashup is one of five released for the summer (aka ice cream season). The other four — Campfire S’Mores, Summer Peach Crisp, Espresso Fior di Latte Chip, and Honey Cornbread with Strawberry Jam — sound pretty normal.
As for the mustard and pretzel concoction, I suppose the reasoning behind it is that mustard-flavored pretzels is a popular combination. But Dijon mustard? And in ice cream?
Van Leeuwen notes that this new crop will be available for ten weeks, at which point another round of flavors will be carted out.
