With apologies to Counting Crows, sometimes they reclaim a paved parking lot and put up paradise — or at least a quasi-tropical oasis complete with potted plants and umbrellas. Say hello to Simply Skirt Steak, a pop-up that operates out of the parking lot of Rainhas Churrascaria in Corona, Queens, where it will remain through mid-October.

Unlike its parent, Simply Skirt Steak serves only skirt steak, cooked to order. For $29.95, diners receive a 6-ounce skirt steak with chimichurri and hand-cut French fries. The price of the meal also includes a Caesar salad and homemade cheese bread.

To help foster the illusion of dinner in the tropics, Simply Skirt Steak features an extensive cocktail program. The Pineapple Cabana, a signature offering, is a proprietary concoction of Caribbean liquors served inside an actual fresh pineapple. The house also offers wines by the glass and bottle, as well as beers by the bottle.

I’m not sure Eden had a miniature putting green, but Simply Skirt Steak does. Jenga and Cornhole, too.
