Danny Meyer is a very civic-minded person. For the past 35 Septembers, he has fought the scourge of hunger by instructing his restaurants to donate $2 to City Harvest from every order of popular menu items. Following Hurricane Harvey, his Union Square Hospitality Group donated $10 each time a customer purchased a cocktail concocted for the occasion.
Today, Election Day, Meyer is at it again. Every paying customer who shows up at Shake Shack wearing an “I Voted” sticker or uses the code “ivoted” when ordering through the app will receive a complimentary order of the house’s signature fries.
