Van Leeuwen Ice Cream has built something of a cottage industry around producing unlikely flavors of the frozen sweet. On March 10, aka National Ranch Day, the company partnered with the most popular brand of ranch dressing in the country to deliver its latest offering: Hidden Valley Ranch ice cream.

The limited-edition flavor will go on sale exclusively at Walmart on March 20 and continue to be offered while supplies last through May 28.

In a press release, Ben Van Leeuwen, co-founder and CEO of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, said, “We’re so excited to debut this new series of flavors and unveil what is possibly our most surprising ice cream yet: Hidden Valley Ranch. We have done some creative collaborations and can’t wait for Walmart shoppers to try this new and exciting flavor along with our other Spring specials.”

Free Ice Cream in Hell’s Kitchen

Speaking of ice cream, on March 18 between noon and 4 p.m., recently opened slice shop Zillions Pizza will celebrate its grand opening with a pizza and ice cream party — and you’re invited. Customers who join the celebration by purchasing a slice will receive a gratis scoop of Mikey Likes It Ice Cream. The pizzeria, located in Hell’s Kitchen, is the latest undertaking by chef and restaurateur Adam Schop, who opened Steak Frites Bistro in the same neighborhood earlier this year. Zillions Pizza, 360 West 42nd Street, 917-409-1227.
