It’s the culmination of two trends — collaboration fever and the recent rise of Jewish (and “Jew-ish”) culture — that are taking the food world by storm.
Called the Great Nosh and scheduled to take place on Governors Island on Sunday, June 22, the event will pair off improbable culinary bedfellows. Think: Thai Diner and Katz’s Deli (Thai with New York Jewish deli), Atoboy and Apollo Bagels (artsy Korean with bagels), and Dhamaka and Gertrude (Indian and Jew-ish). (There are plenty of other mashups, many of them Jewish x Jewish, like Jew-ish cookbook author Jake Cohen and Israeli celebrity chef Eyal Shani, but hey, this is a Jewish-inspired event.)
The event is being hailed at its website as “the ultimate summer picnic, packed with NYC’s best restaurants, exclusive chef collabs, immersive art, unexpected Jew-ish cultural connections, and sunshine.”
Tickets, which may be purchased here, are $39.89, though be advised that sales are brisk, according to Eater.
