Do you eat with your eyes? According to a study published in the scientific journal “Physiology & Behavior in 2012, “visual stimuli have been shown to alter the perception of taste, smell, and flavor.”

You’ll have a chance to test the theory as early as next week by booking a seat at one of Sushi By Bou‘s “Omakase” in the Dark dinners, each a 12-course sushi extravaganza at which participants consume their food while blindfolded.

The menu is a secret, though the handlers are willing to divulge that the dishes will exhibit tastes and textures of the sea.

The dinner, which will run 90 minutes, will set you back $100 per person.

The “Omakase” in the Dark dinners will be held on four dates — Oct. 17, Nov. 14, Nov. 15, Nov. 25 — with four seatings per date. Tickets may be purchased here.
