Yesterday, we reported that the veteran Italian restaurant Fresco by Scotto was absorbing the $9 cost of the congestion pricing toll incurred by customers who drive to the restaurant. Now it appears that several other NYC eateries have had the same idea.

The New York Post reports that the Nomad branch of Sushi by Bou and Clinton Hall’s three Manhattan locations have begun offering relief from the dreaded toll. The savings in each case amounts to $9, though the condition drivers need to meet to qualify for the rebate vary from place to place. At Fresco by Scotto, for example, the requirement for customers arriving by car is that they order an appetizer and entrée. At Clinton Hall, meanwhile, a table must spend at least $100 to make the cut, while Sushi by Bou is offering $9 off per person on its $65 signature 12-course omakase experience.

In case you’re wondering how these restaurants determine who receives the discount, they rely on the honor system — a lesson fare beaters would do well to learn.
