Who wouldn’t welcome softer, pillowy buns toasted to a golden brown on their burger, or perfectly gooey melted cheese that will make you want to savor every last bit off the wrapper? These are two of the “small but tasty improvements” McDonald’s is making to its Big Mac, McDouble burger, Cheeseburger, Double Cheeseburger, and Hamburger, according to a press release from the company. The changes also include the addition of white onion to the patties while they’re still on the grill, resulting in more “juicier, caramelized flavor,” and more secret sauce on every Big Mac bite.

If the changes appeal to you, be advised that they are currently being test-driven in Europe and won’t be available nationwide in the U.S. until 2024.

New Superfood Emporium Opens

“Refine philosophy, not food” is one of several mottos of goodsugar, a fast-casual vegan eatery on the Upper East Side that specializes in superfoods. All its offerings are plant-based and made on the premises using 100% organic produce and unprocessed ingredients.

The name (which always appears lower-cased) is meant to convey that the house uses only use “clean sweeteners” in place of refined sugars.

The menu is comprised of cold-pressed juices, smoothies, hot soups, salads, foods and snacks (think burritos and cauliflower poppers), and bakeries and “chocos,” which include chocolate dates, banana bread, and cookies.
