Who would have thunk it? Food trucks were once the lowly domain of short-order cooks dispensing breakfast and lunch to hungry plant workers who had neither the time nor inclination for a sit-down restaurant meal.
Now the trucks are the province of serious chefs who no longer dream of a brick-and-mortar store but actually compete with such establishments.
So ingrained into the foodie culture are food trucks that there are rival annual showcases for the best of the wares these mobile eateries have to offer. One of those is the NYC Food Truck Fest, which comes to you this year from Grand Bazaar NYC, the weekly curated market on the Upper West Side.
Sample the creations of twelve of the best gourmet food trucks in addition to the market’s 100-plus vendors. Offerings will run the gamut from lobster rolls to mac n’ cheese to empanadas to stuffed french toast.
One hundred percent of Grand Bazaar NYC’s profits are donated to four local public school, benefiting over 4,000 children.
The event is Sunday, March 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Admission is free, but registration is required and may be completed here.
Grand Bazaar NYC, 100 W. 77th Street.
