We are woman, hear us cook.

The Sosta, the 7-month-old casual eatery on the cusp of Chinatown and Little Italy that serves up light Italian fare, is hosting a guest chef series over the next two years that will highlight the contributions of women. Each month will feature a new “lady entrepreneur,” as the restaurant’s website notes.

This month, the first in the series, the featured cook is food writer and Italian food authority Katie Parla, who will be showcasing Spaghetti AOPC, a dish she co-created with The Sosta’s chef, Ali LaRaia. The acronym in the name of the dish stands for the ingredients in the sauce, which ajo (garlic), ojo (oil), peperoncino (red pepper) and colatura (an Italian fish sauce made from anchovies).

Sosta cofounder Samantha Wasser is quoted as saying that she is excited “to partner together with women we admire and respect … to support one another and celebrate all that these talented women have accomplished.

Chef Parla will be cooking through the end of January. Future guests include “Top Chef” judge and Man Repeller founder Leandra Medine and Alison Roman, author of the cookbook Dining In.
