What’s up with the Upper East Side? Suddenly the neighborhood is undergoing something akin to the California Gold Rush, except instead of the allure of precious metal, the zip code is being inundated with new bagel shops.

As East Side Feed notes, Olde Brooklyn Bagel Shoppe, a Brooklyn veteran, has announced that it plans to open an outpost on Second Avenue at East 88th Street. It will be joined in its migratory pattern by Tompkins Square Bagels, which will open its own satellite store at Third Avenue, between 67th and 68th Streets, and Bagel Point, which will open a shop on Lexington Avenue, between East 61st and 62nd Streets.
