The crew behind Mariscos El Submarino, the fast-casual Mexican seafood restaurant that opened in Jackson Heights in 2021, has struck again. For their latest opus, Mitica, located in Greenpoint, they have broadened their culinary scope to include a handful of meat-based dishes, among them a tomahawk steak at $85 and a braised pork shank.

But the emphasis is still clearly on seafood. Their vaunted aguachile — shrimp cured in lime juice — is numbered among the offerings, served with either a negro or roja sauce. An order for taco gobernador brings you face to face with a lightly charred tortilla oozing fragrant Chihuahua cheese and topped with bite-size morsels of lobster.
