Wine and Dine at James Beard House with Chef Anthony Pino

Anthony Pino

Anthony Pino, chef and owner of Hoboken’s Anthony David’s, will be showcasing the level of culinary excellence that can be found on his side of the Hudson on March 12 at the James Beard House. Chef Pino will be joined by Joel David Liscio, the wine director of his second restaurant, Bin 14, who has selected the dinner’s pairings, all from the Aosta Valley in northwestern Italy.

The five-course adventure will open with hors d’oeuvres, among them Pino’s signature petite crab cakes with lemon caper aïoli. The appetizer course will center on beef ribeye tartare with capers, pecorino, and crostini.

After a salad course, guests will tuck into lobster gnocchi, with chanterelles, toasted corn, and thyme, followed by the main course: pan roasted duck breast with wilted greens, creamy polenta, and barolo cherries.

Capping the dinner off will be a dessert of espresso semifreddo, almond biscotti.

Dinner, which begins at 7 p.m., will cost $180 a person, $140 for James Beard Foundation members. Reservations may be made here or by phoning 212-627-2308.
