If you have kiddies and they look forward each year to the marshmallowy confection known as “Peeps,” this year the little ones are going to have to muddle by without the chicks. Peeps are the latest casualty of the coronavirus.

According to the Associated Press, Just Born Quality Confections, the fittingly named makers of the popular marshmallow candy, says production will be suspended for several months. That means a Peep-less Halloween, Christmas, and even Valentine’s Day, though the Bethlehem, Pa.-based company hopes to have Peeps available for its biggest-selling holiday, Easter.

The company explained in a statement:

This situation resulted in us having to make the difficult decision to forego production of our seasonal candies … in order to focus on meeting the expected overwhelming demand for Peeps for next Easter season, as well as our everyday candies.

Try feeding that to your grandkids or kids.
