Trattoria One Fifth, the swanky Italian restaurant off Washington Square noted for its elegant Art Deco décor and its distinctive oval-shaped pizzas, will close this week. Final service will be this coming Saturday, Feb. 22.

A message at the Instagram address of the owner and chef Marc Forgione thanks customers for their patronage and notes that the team will be focusing its energies on new projects. In addition, a pop-up when you visit the restaurant’s web page reveals that Happy Hour will last all night every night during its final week and that visitors can expect “lots of wine list specials.”

Truck Crash Dumps 44,000 Pounds of Beer on FL Highway

A tractor trailer carrying 44,000 pounds of beer jackknifed while negotiating a curve on a Florida highway earlier this week, spilling its payload over a large swath of median. UPI reports that the driver lost control of the vehicle while attempting the curve.
