This time of year it’s commonplace to hear of roadways coated in ice or snow, but chocolate? That was briefly the case earlier this week when a truck fire on Interstate 580 in California became a raging — if yummy — inferno. The truck’s cargo included 40,000 pounds of chocolate, which melted from the heat.

Thankfully the driver escaped unharmed, but this seemed to give the media carte blanche to focus on the lighter side of the mishap. Newser quipped that the road “really could have used a pile of marshmallows [and] graham crackers.”

The fire, which occurred during the morning rush hour was no joke to commuters who were left to deal with massive delays.
