No, you’re not pregnant — at least not necessarily. You may just be indulging in one of Katz’s Delicatessen’s limited-edition ice creams, available Sept. 12 though 21 exclusively at Kith Treats in Williamsburg, DUMBO, and SoHo.
There are two basic flavors, both riffs on vanilla: There is Dilluxe — populated with pastrami-seasoned croutons and pickles — and The Latke, laced with sour cream and onion chips, and dotted with mini potato latkes.
The collab is an outgrowth of Kith Treat’s Heritage Program, which pays homage to celebrated institutions with special menus and events.
Katz’s is no stranger to bizarre promotions. In 2021, the deli welcomed matrimonially inclined couples in to tie the knot against an aromatic backdrop of pastrami. In 2022, the restaurant invited a comedy duo that performs in unlikely spots (think a laundromat, a barbershop, a tattoo parlor) to do a late-night routine for customers.
