With the mercury continuing to practice its daily swan dive into the single digits, one imperative to celebrating Valentine’s Day this year is finding a place that’s warm.

If you’re looking for a low-key date with no pressure and a romantic riff, slide into a table at the newly opened Peck Slip Social in FiDi/Seaport. Sip on Lavender French 75, an enchanting variation on the classic French 75 with gin, champagne, lemon and floral lavender ($16). Or take it up a notch with the Lavender French 75 & Moët, which comes with a mini bottle of Moët champagne ($30). If you are too old — or too young — to remember Figaro Café in Greenwich Village back when it was a sounding board for Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, or Al Pacino, you may be unaware that it reopened several years ago. If memory serves, the strongest potion offered during its earliest days was coffee, but now the bar is fully stocked.
