Imagine answering the door after placing an order with DoorDash and finding a police officer standing on the other side. Anastasia Elsinger, a graduate student at South Dakota State University, doesn’t have to imagine. It happened to her last Tuesday after she had placed a lunch order with the delivery service.

Unbeknownst to Elsinger, police had pulled over the delivery vehicle for a routine traffic stop a few blocks from her home. When the officers discovered the driver had an outstanding warrant, they arrested him.

According to CNN, when Elsinger opened the door and saw a cop, her first impulse was to think that something was wrong. “Then she noticed the officer was holding two bags and a drink.” Elsinger and the officer shared a laugh, and then he returned to his vehicle.

A spokeswoman for DoorDash said that the company runs background checks on all its drivers and is looking into this incident, adding, “We’re grateful to the law enforcement officer for stepping in and ensuring this customer received their order.”

Eleven Madison Park x Urbani Truffles

Just when you thought Eleven Madison Park couldn’t get pricier, the restaurant announces that it will be hosting a dinner in collaboration with Urbani Truffles on March 1, to mark the end of truffle season.  “The evening will feature a selection of rare wines from our cellar, paired with a delicious plant-based tasting menu celebrating black truffles,” an email from the restaurant reads. The per-person cost is $750.
