Porkapalooza. That’s how event founder and New York restaurateur Jimmy Carbone describes Pig Island, the annual celebration of all things porcine. This year’s event, the eighth annual, promises to be no less memorable.
Pig Island will be held this coming Saturday, Sept. 9, at Erie Basin Park in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Guests will be treated to unlimited quantities of pork, sides, washed down with equally endless amounts of craft beer, wine, cider, and whiskey.
Participating chefs will include Pitmaster Roxanne Spruance (Kingsley NYC – Zagats 2017 Best New American Restaurant), Michael Jenkins (Butter), and Charcuterie Master Rodrigo Duarte (Casiero e Bom — last year’s Best in Show for Traditional Pork). This year the cast of chefs will be extended to include Jonathan Botta (Smoke Show) and Tyson Ho (Arrogant Swine).
As an added bonus, this year you can get 20% off admission through Pulsd. An all-inclusive ticket normally valued at $81 will set you back only $65.
Don’t miss a chance to make a pig out of yourself on the one day of the year when it’s expected!
