Friday, Dec. 15, is the last of the eight nights of Hanukkah. To send the holiday off on a high note, reserve space at GERTIE in Williamsburg. The “Jew-ish” diner will be hosting a Brighton Beach-style celebration banquet in collaboration with Dacha 46 — a Brooklyn-based traveling pop-up couple that explores eastern European cuisine through a queer lens.

Attendees will be seated at a festive communal table where they will chow down on family-style platters of salat, zakuski, pickles, latkes, the Russian meat-filled dumplings known as pelmeni, and more. (Don’t ask, as my Jewish in-laws used to say when my husband and I were first married, just eat.)

The event will have two seatings, one at 6 p.m. (doors open at 5:30) and one at 8:30 p.m. (doors open at 8:00). The cost per person is $125, which will include a welcome toast featuring GERTIE’s infused vodka shots. An unlimited wine and beer open bar package will be an additional $50 per head. Reservations may be made here.

GERTIE, 357 Grand Street, Brooklyn, 718-636-0902.
