With the Oscars and Mardi Gras both on the horizon, Peck Slip Social, the whiskey-forward bar in the FiDi/Seaport, is gearing up for two big evenings. Mark your calendar:

Watch the Oscars with a Cinematographer on March 2

Experience Hollywood’s biggest night with an industry insider at the Oscars Watch Party on March 2 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Co-owners Alex Davis and Learan Kahanov (a cinematographer who has worked on films such as Kevin Smith’s “Clerks III”) will be airing the highly anticipated 97th Academy Awards across three screens — including a mega 85-inch TV — so guests won’t miss a second of star-studded action. While you watch, enjoy Peck Slip Social’s extensive selection of 100-plus whiskeys, bar bites from Chef Taylor Miller (ex-Perry Street, Ichiran), and cocktails, including a whiskey- and bubbly-based Oscars cocktail specials that will have guests feeling like Hollywood royalty. No reservations.

Mardi Gras with NOLA-inspired Drinks, Food & Live Music on March 4

Two nights later, Peck Slip will celebrate Mardi Gras with New Orleans-style live music, cocktails, and crawfish. Guests will feel transported with special drinks like the “Laura,” the bar’s take on the Big Easy classic Sazerac with Redemption Rye, New Orleans Peychaud’s bitters, Creole bitters, absinthe, orange and star anise. Peel-and-eat crawfish, a southern favorite, will be on hand served either classic cajun or with lemongrass and ginger. From from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., the East Village All-Stars band will be setting the mood with their New Orleans stylings of traditional jazz and Mardis Gras music.
