Maybe it’s because a food writer tends to see everything through a lens of food, but I’ve always been partial to New York Fashion Week’s edible creations. Somehow they seem to reflect the low point and high point of the prestigious media event at the same time.

This year’s Fashion Week, which ended Tuesday, was no exception with its QDOBA “chip pants,” wearable slacks with multiple built-in compartments for the fast food chain’s chips.

Kelsey Kraatz, the company’s senior manager of national media, is quoted as saying:

At QDOBA, we’re always looking for unexpected ways to connect with consumers and showcase our products in a fresh, fun and flavorful way.

With Chip Pants, we’re combining two passion points of the younger generation — food and fashion — allowing us to engage with this key audience in a fun and memorable way.

If you crave something more sweet than savory, you can always opt for a pair of life-size chocolate pumps available, in dark, milk, and white chocolate. The shoes, which may be ordered from Li-Lac Chocolates, will set you back $98 ($49 per single shoe).
