
The series “Friends” is still popular with new generations of viewers nearly 30 years after it first aired. The show’s staying power explains the lines that formed last fall at Central Perk — a real, working replica of the coffee house where the friends met to socialize in the series.
For another taste of “Friends”-driven nostalgia, stop by Sandwell, the healthyish sandwich shop with locations in Gramercy and on the Upper West Side. For the month of November, the shop is offering two special sandwiches inspired by the events of Season 5, Episode 8, titled (aka The One with Ross’s Sandwich).
- The Ross harks back to the famous Thanksgiving leftover sandwich immortalized when it gets stolen at work.
- The Rachel is Sandwell’s glowed-up version of this classic Reuben variation, which is typically made with sliced turkey (instead of corned beef) and coleslaw (instead of sauerkraut).
