Grand Army Bar in Boerum Hill (336 State Street) will be celebrating all things DOGS on Saturday 7/19!

The date coincides with the final day of Grand Army’s annual “Daiqs and Dogs” weeklong fundraising initiative (spearheaded by the Back Bar Project), honoring National Hot Dog Day (Wednesday July 16) and National Daiquiri Day (Saturday July 19).

All week long until the 19th, a portion of proceeds from a special daiquiri and hot dog on the Grand Army menu will benefit Humane World for Animals. There will also be dog bandana giveaways courtesy of Back Bar Project.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, on Saturday from 2 to 4.pm., Grand Army will host its third annual dog adoption event with Every Last One Rescue, a volunteer rescue organization that focuses exclusively on finding homes for dogs pulled from NYC’s Animal Care Center (ACC). There will be a bunch of adorable, adoptable pups in attendance to meet and greet (and maybe even adopt!).

Last but not least (we promise!), local artist Matt Timms aka @allthebadcats will be on site, live painting pet portraits to take home that day. (Don’t be alarmed by his handle — he paints dogs, too.) Portraits are $80 each. Please bring a digital photo of your pet.
