Imagine a race where runners are required to stop and down two slices of pizza before continuing. If that sounds like your kind of race, then grab your running shoes and head over to Fort Greene Park in Brooklyn this coming Sunday, Sept. 15, as the 14th annual New York City Pizza Run gets underway.
The 5K begins at 11 a.m. and to qualify, runners will have to fill out a registration form available here and pony up the $60 participation fee. Runners will receive an official race bib, an NYC Pizza Run t-shirt, two slices of pizza (the ones that are consumed mid-race, and a tote bag. Runners will also be rewarded after the race with a free drink at DSK German Beer Garden.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
