You may have seen or heard about the book — titled simply “Russ & Daughters: 100 Years of Appetizing” — and you may have read in this very column about plans for a TV series about the family.
The series, I understand, is still a work in progress. But the book is now a reality, and a copy is yours if you pay the $40 registration fee for an event scheduled for Thursday. Sept. 11, at 6 p.m., at Temple Emanu-el’s Streicker Cultural Center.
The current owners of Russ & Daughters, Niki Russ Federman and Josh Russ Tupper, will be present at the event conversing with James Beard Award–winning food journalist Gabriella Gershenson.
Samples of R & D’s fabled smoked fish and bagels will be available to those who attend.
Tickets may be purchased here.
Temple Emanu-El Streicker Center, 1 East Sixty‑Fifth Street.
