Now a Chelsea restaurant is doing the same for its industry compatriots. Puttanesca has announced that on Sundays, members of the trade will get a 25% discount on their checks.
If you’re touched by the sentiment but wonder what’s in it for you, the restaurant hasn’t forgotten its customers. On Wednesdays, “Wine Down Night” gives diners 50% off every bottle of wine from Puttanesca’s fairly extensive wine list, comprised predominantly of Italian bottles, but with plenty of American and French alternatives thrown in. The restaurant’s largess continues on Thursday, which is “Oyster Night.” A selection of oysters is on sale for $1 each.
