This year, an estimated half of all people who drink alcohol at least once a month report that they plan to abstain from drinking for the month of January. Going dry can be hard — many drinkers experience cravings when they go on the wagon — but it can also be easier: the number of watering holes in the city that will help patrons honor their pledge to stay dry are increasing.

The following spots are offering imaginative and varied zero-proof cocktails during the month of January:

  • Berimbau Brazilian Table (3 W. 36th Street, 212-763-7123), a Brazilian lounge in midtown, will be mixing an alcohol-free version of the caipirinha and will feature an espresso martini with Ritual Zero Proof Rum, rich espresso, doce de leite, and agave.
  • Bella Luna (574 Columbus Avenue, 212-877-2267), which has been holding court on the Upper West Side for nearly 40 years, invites you to experience its lineup of flavorful, satisfying mocktails. Options include the Strawberry Nojito, a refreshing blend of strawberry, mint, and lime topped with club soda; Tropical Heat, a bold mix of pineapple, lime, and jalapeño; and the Autumn Awakening, a cozy seasonal concoction featuring pumpkin puree, espresso, cream, and chai.
  • CHADA Restaurant and Bar (260 Avenue of the Americas, 646-370-6366), a vibrant Thai restaurant in the West Village, welcomes those celebrating Dry January to start 2026 off right with a craft mocktails. The thoughtfully curated drink menu is rife with creative, non-alcoholic options such as the Crystal Coco Thai Iced Tea, made with a coconut water and Thai tea base, topped with a smooth cream and roasted coconut pieces; and Lychee Bliss, crafted with lychee purée, lemon juice, Roselle syrup, and seltzer.
  • If you are ready to embrace temperance in all its virginal purity, you are ready for Hekate Café & Elixir Lounge, in the East Village (Hekate Café & Elixir Lounge, 167 Avenue B, 646-590-3404). Named for the Greek goddess of magic and witchcraft, Hekate describes itself accurately as “an intimate sober bar and bottle shop serving 0ABV beers and wines, as well as a vast array of delicious alcohol-free cocktails.” Indeed there is nothing stronger to drink than the tap water, which is supplied by New York City.
