Love it or hate it, New York’s first-ever Curbside (aka Outdoor) Dining Week is set to launch this week. Nearly three dozen city restaurants have announced plans to participate, offering diners discounts and special menu items.

This inaugural version of Curbside Dining Week will be abbreviated, running one week only from Sept. 5 to Sept. 12. A list of participating restaurants can be found here, though for this first go-round only 36 restaurants across the five boroughs have agreed to play, with 0 in Staten Island and a single restaurant in the Bronx.

The special offers themselves appear skimpy next to the voluminous menus restaurants typically roll out for other restaurant weeks. The Mexican restaurant Añejo Tribeca, for example, is offering diners a complimentary order of chips and salsa, while at Soleluna in Sunnyside, Queens, it’s a “free dessert for each person dining outside.”
