If you haven’t bought a Chilean wine in recent memory, you may not be aware that wines of that country are no longer automatically relegated to the wine shop’s discount bin. On the contrary, far from being a cheap date, viticulturally speaking, some Chilean wines are sought after by collectors and sold at auction.

If your knowledge of Chilean wines is lacking, you might want to head over to City Vineyard on Oct. 21 for what is being hailed as New York City’s first Chile Wine Fest. More than 150 wines produced by Chile’s top winemakers will be available to taste, along with an array of traditional and modern Chilean food pairings.

Tickets for the event, which may be purchased here, are $30.
