If you weren’t entirely enthralled with your choice of location to ring in the New Year ten days ago, think of this as a do-over. In fact, think of it as two do-overs. On Tuesday, Feb. 10, and again on Wednesday, Feb. 11, chef and cookbook author Melissa King will be popping up alongside chef Alex Chang at his trendy Hudson Square restaurant Kiko for a special Lunar New Year collaboration.

Chef King will lend her bold, modern Chinese-American perspective to chef Alex’s refined, globally informed approach to Asian cuisines, a product of his heritage and childhood spent in Japan. (Kiko is the Japanese word for “joyful child.”)

The six-course menu celebrates the Year of the Horse through elevated dishes such as chilled homemade tofu with caviar; lobster wontons with yuzu broth; and shanghai-style black vinegar beef rib, complemented by wine and sake pairings from Kiko’s co-owner/sommelier, Lina Goujjane.

Tickets, available at Resy for $225 per guest, include a welcome cocktail and a copy of Melissa’s new book, “Cook Like a King: Recipes from My California Chinese Kitchen.” The per-person charge excludes additional beverages, tax and gratuity.
