An intoxicating scent will be rising above 36th Street in Astoria this Saturday as “cue” lovers head over to Pig Beach BBQ Queens for its Third Annual Jeff Michner BBQ Benefit. The event honors the memory of chef and pitmaster Jeff Michner, who died unexpectedly of a sudden brain bleed in 2018 at the age of 36.

The pig-out, which runs from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., will be hosted by Food Network’s Michael Symon, with pitmasters Rodney Scott, Tuffy Stone, Chris Lilly, and other notable pitmasters in attendance to man the smoke

If you’re really feeling your oats, you can always take part in the rib-eating contest.

Tickets, priced at $125 for general admission and $225 for VIP admission, may be purchased here. Proceeds will benefit the Jeff Michner Foundation (created by his family), which aids families managing loss and grief.
