The pandemic may have thrown the city for a loop, but signs of rebirth are springing up everywhere with restaurant re-openings. One particular ray of hope for Krispy Kreme lovers comes in the form of an announcement that the donut chain will be opening its much-awaited flagship store in Times Square.
The location, which will boast an area of 4,500 square feet, is slated to open Sept. 15 and will feature the world’s largest “hot” light (KK aficionados will know what I’m talking about, but here’s a link for the rest of you.). To stoke your childhood fantasies, the store will also feature a glaze waterfall.
Krispy Kreme CEO Michael Tattersfield told USA Today that to control crowds at first, the store will use “remote queueing” and allow consumers to reserve a time to visit.
