How sweet it is! Sweetooth, the East Village bakery specializing in sweets infused with THC (one of the key compounds found in cannabis) has announced plans to open a second outpost on First Avenue at 87th Street. The store is slated to begin doing business on Feb. 5.

The shop will sell infused brownies, macarons, cake pops, donuts, cookies, beverages, and even a few types of candy. East Side Feed, which broke the story, notes that customers need to show proof of age in order to make a purchase. Per the city’s health code, you must be 21 years or older to possess up to three ounces of cannabis for personal use. Sweetooth, 1662 First Avenue (at 87th Street).

The Soup So Hot You Need to Sign a Waiver to Try It

You didn’t need to reveal your age, though you did need to sign a “hold harmless” agreement in order to try Campbell’s reportedly incendiary Chunky Ghost Pepper Chicken Noodle Soup. It’s moot anyway at this point, since the product, which went on sale on Jan. 27 to “the first 500 brave souls” willing to “sign a ‘waiver,'” was snatched up almost instantly.

Each can of the soup was accompanied, in dramatic fashion, by a “cool-off kit” that included a cooling towel, fan, sweatband, and tissues.”

To those who missed out on the offer, the company advises, “fear not, Chunky® has a whole line of the spiciest soups on the market and you never know when another offer could be coming.”

We’ll keep you apprised next time — promise.
