Free Dinner for NYC College Students to Usher in Chinese New Year

Another New Year is upon us. The reference is to the Chinese New Year, which falls on Feb. 10. To usher in this, the “Year of the Snake,” a Bronx restaurant is honoring an ancient Chinese family tradition by feeding students away from home, attending college in New York, free of charge.

Traditionally, children in China return home from school to be with their families at New Year. Accordingly on Feb. 7, Little China City will treat students at area colleges to a home-cooked meal. Dinner will run from 10 p.m. to midnight.

A press release from the restaurant notes that Chai Sun, the “God of Wealth,” will be in attendance to greet all the friends and families.
