That’s Pi — no e — as in the mathematical constant roughly equivalent to 3.14. On that date, Mar. 14, aka Pi Day, deals on pizza and pies abound. Here are some.
Beginning on Pi Day and continuing for a week after, Domino’s Pizza will “tip” you $3 to order your pizza online and then pick it up instead of choosing to have it delivered. To activate the promotion, you need to place a takeout order which will come with a $3 coupon code redeemable the following week on a carryout order of $5 or more before tax and gratuity. (Yes, we know, it’s not much of a deal, but we felt we’d be remiss in not at least mentioning it.)
For something a little more in the spirit of the day, on Monday participating branches of 7-Eleven will be offering a whole cheese pizza topped with pepperoni or 7-Meat(!) for $3.14 pizza deal Monday for members of its 7Rewards loyalty program.
The Little Pie Company on West 43rd Street has upped the ante on Pi Day last year, when a purchase of a pie would net you a free sugar cookie in the shape of the Greek letter pi. This year the prize is a whole fresh pie shipped directly to your home. But you need to sing for your supper by explaining on Instagram or Facebook why you love pie. You also need to tag the bake shop along with two friends you’d like to share a pie with and “like” or “follow” their page using the hashtag #WhyPi #EatFreshPie.
Finally, Amazon Prime members can get $3.14 off large cherry and apple pies at Whole Foods Market bakeries Monday. The deal is good in-store only, while supplies last, and excludes all other pie flavors, brands, and sizes.
